Greetings Hosta Friends! Spring is teasing us with warmer temperatures and occasional rain rather than snow. You’re undoubtedly as excited as I am to get into the garden and equally excited to be gathering on April 2 for our next member meeting. We are fortunate to have Glenn Herold presenting an enlightening program about hostas you’re sure to have in your garden. Glenn provided the following to give you an idea of what to look forward to in his presentation:
"Hostas of the Year: History and Lineageâ€Â
We've all heard of the phrase "Hosta of the Year" but what really is it and how have the selections evolved in the 25 years it has existed? What are the criteria for being selected "Hosta of the Year?"
Not only will that question be answered, but we will also explore the selections, their parentage, and how the plant's characteristics were inherited. Which plants will be the next "Hosta of the Year?" Sounds pretty interesting to me! Be sure to join us Thursday, April 2, 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 559 20th St SW, Rochester. To learn more about Glenn Herold, check out his bio on our web site – he’s a superstar on several fronts!
The excitement is growing!
